Meet the Man behind AUSNWT
Dave started AUSNWT during 2016, creating climbing and ninja holds along with all sorts of other ninja obstacles. Dave has an extensive background in sport, starting out as a professional rugby player in England at a young age. Dave was involved with training people in a variety of water sports from the age of 17. Dave became a Personal Trainer during 2013 and has enjoyed putting people through the paces and helping them achieve to the best of their abilities ever since. Dave found his love of obstacle course racing during 2008, qualifying for the world championships as part of the Aussie team several times (back when qualifying was a thing!). Dave has a natural talent when it comes to sport and creating things! Dave has completed many different events as well as being behind the scenes of some of the best OCR events in Australia. Dave has completed many marathons dressed in all different attire from a giant shoe, the hulk, a Lego man and many more, all which Dave himself made the costumes from scratch! Dave ran these events whilst trying to raise money for charities. The last event Dave ran was the Melbourne Marathon in 2018 whilst carrying a washing machine to raise money for mental health as Dave himself has suffered severely from mental health. You may remember the washing machine guy on Australian Ninja Warrior… that was Dave who appeared during the Australian Ninja Warrior 2019 series and made it into the semifinals! Australian Ninja Warrior requested Dave return for the 2020 series, however Dave turned it down as he had taken a step away from most things including AusNWT, however, he’s back with so many new and different ideas!!
